still here

At this point we are keeping the blog alive. We will be back! The day will come where we can concentrate on fun again not on evil people in our lives! Hooray!

The Rain and Foundations

They really don't mix well: Rain and Foundations. If you are enjoying rain you will not be enjoying foundations. We had a lot of surprisingly dry days until now and the construction is going OK, and so far the site is looking very good. The contractors have worked hard and not been thown back too far by the weather. When the huge rain happened a week ago, we had a little lake in the area where Margret's house used to be. Luckily Tim and Scott installed a pump which pumped the rain water into a storm-sewer line for two consecutive days. Scary!

Now the footings for building 2 (the triplex) are done and we are looking forward to see building 1 and 3 (our house) take shape. I will post some images soon. ....Sleep... now!

Enzo's idea of a good time

Here is Enzo washing our front porch with the help of the Seattle firedepartment.

yes - it is happening: decon on minor ave

Finally!!! We have our financing in place and are completely moved into our new house at 2355 Minor Ave. We donated the old houses to the Seattle fire department and today they trained two groups of firefighters. Enzo got to ask all kinds of questions and shot a 150 gal/sec stream of water into our house (without getting into trouble for it..).

Now there's not turning back - we have to build a new beautiful place - no problem! Just keep checking in.

jeffrey is here

tonight we have the priviledge of jeffrey bailey giving us a detailed map of the turmoiled emotional landscape inhabiting his gargantous brain. it is a true pleasure. after spending a day with FIVE boys from the age of 4-8, playing soccer in the rain and mud and trying to keep peace amidst raging chaos this seems like a vacation.
